Sam Eldin Heart Article - القلب
Human Heart:
Our main objective is to not overkill our topic with numerous facts, but highlight the biggest
issues or points which would give our presentation its goals. Therefore, we would be very brief in
our facts and explanations.
The importance of the Human Heart:
Without the heart pumping blood to body, no one can survive long nor live normally. Even with
artificial heart, life is not the same. No one can hardly do anything if there is issues with
his/her heart.
What cause heart issues and the biggest heart issues:
Heart issues are numerous, but the biggest are heart attacks and stress. Functionality of the
heart is dependent on personality, thinking, life style, food, environment, earning a living
and living habits.
What did Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) said about the heart:

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" الْحَلاَلُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لاَ يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِيِنِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ،
وَمَنْ وَقَعَ فِي الشُّبُهَاتِ كَرَاعٍ يَرْعَى حَوْلَ الْحِمَى، يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُوَاقِعَهُ. أَلاَ وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمًى، أَلاَ إِنَّ حِمَى اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ مَحَارِمُهُ،
أَلاَ وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ، وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ. أَلاَ وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ ". |
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is quoted in a Hadith as saying in reference to the heart:
” There is a piece of flesh in our body if it is sound the whole body is sound and if
it is corrupt the whole body is corrupted”.
How to prevent heart failure early before it would happen?
Our answer is that the heart is designed with default functionalities and upsetting or
deviating from the defaults functionalities would stress the heart and that would bring
heart issues.
Analogy of Human Heart and computer system:
Looking at a computer system with multiple CPUs, it is designed with Master CUP (heart), Slave
CPUs (brain and lungs), motherboard (spine) and peripherals (the rest of the body). The Master
CPU runs and tracks the system including controlling Slaves CPUs and the peripherals. The
motherboard connect everything plus it has its own independent functionalities to speed the
processing. In the case the Master CPU fails, then one of the Slave CPUs will take over
the Master's job. Each computer part has default setting and processes and any interruption
to these setting or processes may cause malfunction to its performance.
Human Heart:
We are not experts when it comes to the human heart, but the following list is what would
help our presentation:

The heart has over 40,000 nerve cells

The heartbeats changes with emotion and specially if the person is lying

New born babies recognize their mother with her smell and unique heartbeats

Humans can express how their heart feels or communicate with others

Each blood cell passes from the heart to the rest of the body and the heart is the only body organ capable of sending messages to the rest of the body. Therefore, healthy heart will supply every cell in the body with healthy supplements (physical and spiritual).

We can conclude that the heart is more than a blood pump and it has capabilities which are not yet discovered.
Heart Default functionalities and Values:
Outside the physical functionalities of the heart, the heart shows spiritual, emotional,
intelligence, guidance plus other capabilities. Not to mention, all human regardless of
the race, they very much have the same heart and we can transplant human hearts to other
humans. Our conclude that there must be a default setting for the human heart.
what are these default setting let us look at the followings in Islam:
First, all humans know God Almighty:
We human know God Almighty, then what is required of us.
If you know God Almighty and believe in God Almighty, then what would be the default setting:

" إنَّ اللَّهَ طَيِّبٌ لَا يَقْبَلُ إلَّا طَيِّبًا "
God Almighty is kind and good and will not accept nothing else.
Our Computer Model for the Heart:
We believe that the heart is the Master CPU and the brain and rest of the body are
Slave CPUs and peripherals.
If the heart fails to do its job
•
" إنَّ اللَّهَ طَيِّبٌ لَا يَقْبَلُ إلَّا طَيِّبًا "
then the brain will take over. In the case, the brain becomes the master, then heart
and its functionalities are lost and also its default settings
•
" إنَّ اللَّهَ طَيِّبٌ لَا يَقْبَلُ إلَّا طَيِّبًا " .
Is the Heart in Charge or the brain?
We believe the heart is charge and not the brain. We need to think of the heart the same
way we think of our brain. Our hearts are far more intelligent and sensitive than our
brain. For example, our heartbeat will react to good or bad news faster than our brain
react to the same news. According to Google search heart attacks are more common than strokes.
